One of the services that the Hayes School of Music offers to its faculty, students, and guest artists is the live streaming and recording of over 200 concerts and recitals per year. As the Production Manager, it is my responsibility to train and manage a team of 10 student employees who serve as audio and video engineers for these live events. The Presnell Foundation Video Project

Asheboro, NC

The H. Clay and Wavie M. Presnell Foundation is an organization based out of Randolph County that gives grants to local 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations. These range from local schools and a homeless shelter all the way to Victory Junction Camp. Tammy Webster, the Foundation's Secretary & Treasurer, reached out to me about creating video content for their website. For this project, I conceptualized, recorded, and edited almost half an hour of content in the form of an overview video, three videos with testimonials from eight of their grant recipients, and one biographical video detailing the history of the Presnell Foundation.

Boone Bigfoots Live Stream Producer

Boone, NC

The Boone Bigfoots are a summer league baseball team for collegiate athletes to play in between spring and fall semester in Boone, North Carolina. For their inaugural season, I assisted with and then oversaw live broadcasts of their Saturday games on AppTV. I did a little bit of everything, including setting up cameras and connecting them to the TriCaster via SDI and eventually NDI, operating the TriCaster during games, and even keeping score on our scoreboard graphic when necessary.

Positions

Roles I Held at the Station

Mountaintop Meals

Creator and Producer

Mountaintop Meals is the project I am most proud of from my time at AppTV. The show explores local restaurants in the High Country, featuring interviews with the owners and some samples of their food. Being the creator and producer, I built this show from the ground up. It is truly where my passion lies, and I consider it my crowning achievement at Appalachian State.

The Morning App Morning Show

Producer and Technical Director

Every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday I was in the studio at 7:30 AM to set up and operate cameras for a live broadcast of 90.5 WASU's morning talk show. I was responsible for all technical aspects of the show, including operating the audio and video boards, as well as uploading the recording of each episode to all of our platforms.
